Color files – the trend

Color files – the trend If you didn’t already hear, Honeysuckle is the color of 2011 per Pantone. Pantone surveys top designers featured at NY Fashion Week each season to determine the coming color trends.

It’s so hot here in the Midwest but I dare to look toward the cooler days and nights of Fall 2011 because the color palette is surprisingly pastel-ish to me.

Color files – the trend Deep teal is number one on my list for fall. Seen here depicted by Cynthia Steffe. I’m on the hunt now for my deep teal fall item. Thinking of pairing it with a brown tone…camel, caramel or coffee.

“Designers take a painterly approach to fall 2011 by artfully combining bright colors with staple neutrals, reminiscent of how an artist would construct a stunning work of art,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Much like a painter’s masterpiece, there is a certain romance to this season’s palette.”

What to look for now? Neutrals are fabulous year round. Find a fabulous tank in a taupe or camel color that can later be worn with a darker colored cardigan or jacket. Great with jeans, or a skirt. Day to night and transitional….all out of one beautiful tank.
