As half of the design mastermind behind Swanson-Ollis Interiors in Los Angeles, Swanson first honed his artistic eye in the Kansas City area. Swanson earned an interior design degree from K-State University then headed toward the coast with business partner Dan Ollis. Aside from their exquisite work and The Bristol and Yia’s Yia’s Euro Bistro in Kansas City, the design duo has shared expertise for HGTV’s avid followers. 

Kansas City has its fair share of stylish and successful men. Golfer Tom Watson, NFL star Brandon Flowers and motor racing driver and political activist Scott Tucker head the list when it comes to sports.

Celebrity photographer Greg Gorman, designer Hal Swanson and sculptor Tom Corbin are all hugely successful in the arts world and when it comes to movies and television Kansas City can boast a stellar cast of actors who call KC home. Ed Asner, Brad Pitt, Chris Cooper, Tuc Watkins and Paul Rudd all come from Kansas City. Kansas City's most famous export is jazz, and saxophonist Bobby Watson epitomizes what KC and jazz is all about.
