The Style Guru: How to strike a statement in Grandma's gold

vintage jewelry

There's vintage that is brilliantly crafted to withstand the test of time, and then there is just plain old junk that is ready to hit the garage sale. When I say old, I mean this: If that coat walked by, it would most likely wreak of bad fashion influence and taste, moth balls included.

So how do you separate Grandma's gold from the just plain O.L.D (Overly Loved Duds)?

I struck gold earlier this year when my very fashion forward Mimi bequeathed to me some very treasurable threads:

1)  Silk satin embellished mini ties.

2)  Pearls and heavy weighted gold metals.

3)  Fur stoles and hand-crocheted dresses.

4)  Beaded gold clutches and so much more!

When you're considering a vintage piece, ask yourself:

-  Which of these hand-me-downs can still be seen as a piece of art?

-  What can I transition into this modern age?

-  How will each item transform my personal style and bring it out more?

If the item can play a role within your lifestyle without hindering your personal style, then you too have struck gold!
