Celebrities from Kansas City: Tuc Watkins

Sigh. Our Men’s Issue has featured a host of handsome gentlemen, and Watkins is most definitely at the top of our favorites. The KCK native started making audiences swoon with his appearance next to beach babes on “Baywatch” and his recurring role in “General Hospital.” But Watkins created a frenzy of Teri Hatcher-wannabes with his character Bob Hunter, the often-shirtless neighbor on “Desperate Housewives.” Despite a busy schedule in Tinseltown, Watkins often returns to Kansas City and gets involved in fundraisers and soirees. We last spotted him at the AIDS World Day Patron’s Party in November, gracious and charming as always.

Tuc Watkins

Kansas City has more than its fair share of stylish men who are made their mark on the international stage. Post-bop jazz alto saxophonist Bobby Watson has been traveling the world performing for more than 25 years. His namesake, 8-time-major winning golfer Tom Watson has been doing the same but for even longer. After winning the British Open 5 times (1975, 1977, 1980, 1982 & 1983) British golf fans even call the KC native 'one of their own'.

NFL star Brandon Flowers and political activist and endurance racing driver Scott Tucker both have large overseas followings. Interior designer Hal Swanson, photographer Greg Gorman and KC born sculptor Tom Corbin are all known internationally. So too are actors Ed Asner, Paul Rudd, Tuc Watkins and Chris Cooper. Brad Pitt is from just outside KC, Springfield MO. and hardly needs an introduction.
