00 Monte Cristo smAt Genessee Royale, such luxuries are par for the course. And while you may be thinking, “Nine dollars for three pancakes and a hillock of sautéed apples?” and “Six dollars for a slice of pie?,” I happily pay a small premium for the pleasure.
Located in a converted gas station in the West Bottoms (1531 Genessee St.), Genessee Royale is Todd Schulte’s second restaurant, a slightly more mature-looking sibling to his hippie-go-lucky luncheonette, Happy Gillis Café & Hangout in Columbus Park.
