An Unconventional Furniture Piece: Coban Buffet

An Unconventional Furniture Piece: Coban Buffet
Gitane Workshop is a Denver-based studio offering customized furniture items. For today we would like to showcase Coban Buffet, a functional and original looking cabinet. Here is the information we received from the designers: “An absolutely unique response to the dining room buffet casework type. This custom piece represents a combination of new construction with found materials. The casework portion consists of bent laminated corners, oak hardwood, sliding glass doors and custom fabricated metal drawer pulls. Traditional wood joinery, such as blind splines and doweled connections, are used in order to maintain the craftsman integrity of this piece. The base portion is constructed completely of materials found on a farm. Rusted plow heads are mounted to weathered heavy timber beams in a sculptural and highly contrasting response to the case above“. The dimensions of the piece are 34″h x 74″w x 20″d. For further details and more unconventional customized furniture ideas, you can contact the studio.
