Butler Armsden Architects designed an impressive looking modern home in St. Helena, Napa Valley, California. Using a highly contemporary approach, the designers aimed at creating a home suited for a retired couple. The owners’ need for peacefulness was met by a complete isolation from the street ensured by a garage and studio that are interposed between the living spaces and the passers-by. The interiors are quite spectacular, featuring modern arrangements and appealing interior design details. The overall feeling is that of space and comfort. A generous open plan living room with pool views connects the first floor with the one from above through a lovely stairway with wooden steps.
