When this trend emerged just a few years ago, I was initially skeptical. Then it started to catch on and has stuck around for a few seasons. I have several now myself and I must say, they are the most comfortable things you can wear! One tip I learned from my friend Jessie is that they aren't great for going through security in an airport so consider yourself warned.

Anyway, I couldn't resist rounding up some of my favorites for you. Coral and cobalt blue seem to be favorite colors for designers and retailers, bright solids, and of course color-blocking maxis. There are also some gorgeous patterns out there that make my heart pitter patter. Even though my husband jokes with me and calls them my Amish skirts I could fill my closet with them. They are so easy to wear. Throw on your favorite long-sleeve tee, V-neck tee or tank (tuck it in), add a statement necklace and you are done. You can wear flats or heels depending on the length, whether you are trying to dress it up or down, and how coordinated you are... I have stepped on mine a few times. Above is a splurge Yigal Azrouël Pleated Silk Crepe Skirt in an emerald green.
