If you like to keep up on the latest interior design trends then check out these three trends that will continue to grow in popularity.

Texture – Whether it’s fabric or furniture with the texture of snakeskin, a bamboo window shade or a wallpaper done in an unusual mixed media of textures, texture will continue into next year as a huge element in design.  In recent projects, I’ve consistently used texture to add interest to my designs from  the feel of snakeskin or mohair to rustic ethnic inspired pieces from African, Morrocan, Mexican, or Turkish influences that may often incorporate organic influences like bamboo, stones, grass or other elements of nature..

Graphics – Even though graphics emerged a few years ago they continue to gain in popularity in interior designed spaces, especially transitional style rooms where less overall pattern exists.  These graphics are popping up everywhere in a variety of ways whether its bold graphic rugs and wallpaper or calligraphy on a piece of furniture.   .

Its the Mix, not the match-  I have to admit sometimes its even difficult for interior designers to purposely mix patterns to achieve an undone look such as a  pillow arrangement on a sofa because of its goes against our basic design training, but I believe this trend comes from our desire to create casual comfortable spaces that aren’t overdone.
