I may have a slight obsession with peacocks. In person they don't even seem real, as if they are other worldly with their giant jewel-toned tail and elaborate feather pattern.

I had a National Geographic moment watching this guy strut around at a botanical garden in Europe this summer.

But lately, I've been seeing more and more taxidermy peacocks adorning lavish homes in decor magazines, and I have to admit, I'd love to have one on my own mantel someday, but doubt that would bode well with my frisky cat.

More than Seven on Saturday

October! My favorite month of the year. Not only my birthday month but in the Midwest it is always the most beautiful of the seasons. The weather has been 100% perfect here for nearly two weeks (which is unheard of) and this leads me to think we will actually have an autumn season and not zoom from 90 to 40 degrees while fall passes us in the rear view mirror. The leaves are turning early but more importantly the antique shows are popping up everywhere!! Nothing shouts fall to me more than all the harvest fests, outdoor shows and special events with artists and dealers...
